Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap pengaruh Client Centered Counseling terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif karena menekankan analisisnya pada data-data numerikal (angka) yang diolah dengan mode statistika. Sedangkan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen. Adapun desain yang dipilih adalah pre-experiniental designs (nondesigns). Desain ini belum merupakan eksperimen sungguh-sungguh karena masih terdapat variabel luar yang ikut berpengaruh terhadap terbentuknya variabel dependen. Adapun variable dalam penelitian ini adalah client centered counseling dan hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 2 Rantepao dengan sampel sebanyak 42 peserta didik kelas VII. Instrumen pengumpul data adalah pretest dan posttest dengan statistik one-group pretest-posttest. Secara statistik hasil penelitian nilai rata-rata hasil pretest adalah 53,33 dan setelah diberi perlakuan melalui pastoral konseling dengan pendekatan client centered counseling, rata-rata posttest adalah 88.56 dan berdasarkan hasil uji t, diperoleh nilai sig = 0,000 yang berarti lebih kedi dari a= 0,005. Dengan demikian, H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang mengungkap bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan client centered counseling terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 2 Rantepao. Hasil belajar matematika merupakan perubahan yang ditunjukkan setelah pembelajaran matematika melalui test dan pastoral konseling dengan pendekatan Client Centered Counseling merupakan layanan yang diberikan guru agar peserta didik yang hasil belajar matematikanya rendah bisa mengalami peningkatan. ABSTRACT The purpose ofthis study is to reveal the ejfect of Client Centered Counseling on improving mathematics leaming outcomes. This study uses quantitative research because it emphasizes its analysis on nunierical data (numbers) processed in statistical mode. While the research method used is experimental. The design chosen is pre-experimental designs (nondesigns). This design is not yet a real experiment because there are still extemal variables that contribute to the formation ofdependent variables. The variables in this study are client-centered counseling and mathematics leaming outcomes. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Rantepao with a sample of42 grade VII students. The data collection instruments are pretest and posttest with one-group pretest-posttest statistics. Statistically, the average value of the pretest results was 53.33 and after being treated through pastoral counseling with a client centered counseling approach, the posttest average was 88.56 and based on the results ofthe t test, a sig value = 0.000 was obtained which means smaller than a = 0.005. Thus, HO was rejected and H1 was accepted which revealed that there was a significant ejfect of client-centered counseling on improving the leaming outcomes of grade VII students of SMPN 2 Rantepao. Mathematics leaming outcomes are changes shown after leaming mathematics through tests given and pastoral counseling with a client-centered approach counseling is a Service provided by teachers so that students with low mathematics leaming outcomes can improve.
