Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi teknik cerita bergambar bagi kelas bayi di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Pantan Klasis Makale Kota. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keunikan Jemaat Pantan sebagai satu-satunya dari 11 Jemaat di klasis Makale Kota yang memiliki kelas bayi aktif sejak 2018. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis implementasi teknik cerita bergambar di kelas bayi. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi non-partisipan, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi teknik cerita bergambar didukung oleh persiapan yang sistematis meliputi persiapan spiritual dan teknis, serta pelaksanaan yang menerapkan tujuh strategi utama yaitu penggunaan gambar menarik dengan warna cerah, penyederhanaan cerita, pelibatan aktif anak, pengulangan materi, penggunaan teks yang jelas, interaksi langsung, dan manajemen waktu yang tepat. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan fokus dan suasana hati anak, para guru menunjukkan dedikasi tinggi melalui persiapan matang dan penyesuaian metode cerita bergambar yang memperhatikan karakteristik perkembangan anak usia dini. ABSTRACT This research examines the implementation of picture story techniques for the infant class at the Toraja Church Pantan Congregation, Makale City Classis. This study is motivated by the uniqueness of the Pantan Congregation as the only one among the 11 congregations in the Makale City Classis that has had an active infant class since 2018. The purpose of the research is to analyze the implementation of the picture story technique in the baby class. The type of research method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through non-participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation study. The research results show that the implementation of the picture story technique is supported by systematic preparation and seven main strategies in its execution. Despite facing challenges in managing children's focus and mood, the teachers demonstrated high dedication through thorough preparation and the adjustment of teaching methods that consider the developmental characteristics of early childhood.
