Abstract

Juniarto. Department of theology, wrote this thesis with the title “JESUS CHRIST IS ISA AL-MASIH; Comparative Studies of Jesus Christ According to the Bible and Jesus Christ According to the Quran and Its Implications for Harmonious Christian-Islamic Relations” under the guidance of Samuel Tokam, M. Th. and Masnawati, M. Pd. This study aims to reconstruct the truth that Jesus Christ in the Bible is the same person as Isa Al-Masih in the Qur'an. As one of the theologies that is developing among Islam-Christians today. However, this understanding of theology is still doubtful and therefore needs to be revised or re-examined. Based on historical-biography of Jesus the Bible and Isa Al-Quran are very different. As a result, world history records that Islam and Christianity are two religions that are often involved in debates and even conflicts, only because of issues of faith and doctrine regarding Jesus Christ in the Bible and Isa Al-Masih in the Koran. Doubting each other’s true teachings is between the two, there are discriminatory actions accusing each other of the Bible being false and vice versa the Al-Quran is false among Muslims-Christians. This study uses comparative studies studies on the historical-biography of Jesus Christ in the Bible and Isa Al-Masih in the Koran. The results are first: historically-biographical (in terms of genealogy, birth process, family, work/mission and title, crucifixion, death and resurrection and His ascension to Heaven, doctrine, essence, existence, etymology, morphology and substance) Jesus Christ the Bible version with Jesus Al-Masih version of the Qur'an is two different or not the same person. The Jesus Christ preached by the Bible is not the Isa Al-Masih preached by the Koran, both of which are very contradictory in essence, existence and substance based on their historical-biographical review. Second: in character (the person in question) Jesus Christ in the Bible and Isa Al- Masih in the Qur’an are the same character. It's just that the way the Bible and the way the Koran tells, tells and writes about the character of Jesus are different. Because the Bible and the Koran agree that Jesus came from the tribe/tribe of Israel. In order to create a harmonious relationship for Christians-Muslims, Christians-Muslims must have a "mutual agreement" which is an agreement that Jesus and Isa are two historical-biographical different persons. Thus believing in Jesus and Jesus based on their respective scriptures. Next, use the correct "Dialogue-Perspective” in dialogue with the character of Jesus. Jesus should not be understood by Crossing it from the Quran or Crossing its two dichotomies in the Bible. This moment is a golden opportunity to always respect differences, for the sake of harmonious Muslim-Christian relations. Keywords: Jesus Christ, Isa Al-Masih, Islam, Christianity, Bible, Al-Quran, Historical, and Biography.
