Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini melalui implementasi metode bermain kartu huruf untuk pengembangan kognitif untuk anak usia dini di TK Negeri Pembina Mebali. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada kemampuan kognitif khususnya kemampuan mengenal huruf yang masih kurang. Terdapat beberapa anak dari 13 anak yang kemampuan mengenal huruf seperti membedakan huruf-huruf yang hampir sama, menyebutkan huruf, mengurutkan huruf a-z dan menyusun huruf-huruf menjadi kata. Pada Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap yakni tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dengan indikator mengenal bunyi huruf, menyebutkan huruf, dan menyusun huruf-huruf menjadi kata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan signifikan dari siklus I dan siklus II. Rata-rata persentase dari indikator mengenal bunyi huruf diperoleh hasil 75% menjadi 94,23%, indikator menyebutkan huruf di peroleh hasil 82,69% menjadi 98, 07%, dan indikator menyusun huruf menjadi kata diperoleh 76,92% menjadi 96,15%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi metode bermain kartu huruf dapat mengembangan kognitif anak usia dini. Kata kunci: kognitif, kartu huruf, anak usia dini ABSTRACT This research aims to deterniine the cognitive development of early childhood through the implementation of letter card play methodfor cognitive development in early chilldhood at TK Negeri Pembina Mebali. The background ofthis research is based on the cognitive ability, especially the ability to recognize letters, which is still lacking. There are sorne children out of 13 children whose letter recognition abilities, such as distinguishing similar letters, pronouncing letters, alphabetizing letters (a-z), and arranging letters into words, are still low. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists offour stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection technique used is an observation sheet with indicators of recognizing letter sounds, pronouncing letters, and arranging letters into words. The research results show a significant increase frorn cycle I and cycle n. The average percentage of the indicator recognizing letter sounds obtained results of75% to 94.23%, the indicator pronouncing letters obtained results of82.69% to 98.07%, and the indicator arranging letters into words obtained results of 76.92% to 96.15%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation ofthe letter card playing method can improve the cognitive development of early childhood. Keywords: cognitive, letter cards, early childhood.
