ABSTRACT This research was motivated by two children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Bintang Kecil, Makale District, who showed difficulties in maintaining focus, exhibited excessive activity, had trouble understanding or following teachers’ instructions, frequently disturbed their peers, were impatient when waiting for their turn, shouted in class, and often left their seats without a clear reason. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in handling the behavior of hyperactive children at PAUD Bintang Kecil, Makale District. Hyperactive children tend to be restless, have difficulty focusing, and show impulsive behavior that can disrupt the learning process. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teachers play three main roles in managing hyperactive children: as facilitators, motivators, and evaluators. As facilitators, teachers create a safe, comfortable, and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of hyperactive children. They arrange seating to keep the child close to the teacher and use varied teaching methods such as singing, drawing, and learning through play. As motivators, teachers provide praise, attention, and positive reinforcement to boost the child’s enthusiasm and self-confidence. As evaluators, teachers assess the child’s behavioral development and maintain consistent communication with parents to align learning strategies. The study concludes that these three roles are complementary and highly effective in helping hyperactive children become more focused, better self-regulated, and develop optimally within a supportive educational environment. Keywords: Hyperactive children, facilitator, motivator, evaluator.
