Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif anak TK Banne Marendeng khususnya mengenal huruf terdapat anak yang belum mampu mengenal huruf abjad dengan baik sebanyak 45,45%, yang berdampak pada perkembangan literasi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Pengenalan huruf pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Banne Marendeng melalui penerapan media kartu huruf. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pra-siklus, 54,54% anak berada pada kategori sudah berkembang, sedangkan pada siklus I meningkat 63,63% dan pada siklus II mencapai 81,81%. Penerapan media kartu huruf terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan anak dalam mengenal huruf, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu huruf dapat meningkatkan pengenalan huruf pada anak di TK Banne Marendeng. Kata kunci : anak usia dini, kartu huruf, perkembangan kognitif, pengenalan huruf ABSTRACT The cognitive development of Banne Marendeng Kindergarten children, especially in recognizing letters, there are 45.45% of children who have not been able to recognize the alphabet properly, which has an impact on the development of children's literacy. This study aims to improve letter recognition in children aged 5-6 years in Banne Marendeng Kindergarten through the application of letter card media. The research method used is Classroom Action Research which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study showed that in the pre-cycle, 54.54% of children were in the category of having developed, while in cycle I it increased to 63.63% and in cycle II it reached 81.81%. The application of letter card media has proven effective in improving children's ability to recognize letters, so it can be concluded that the use of letter card media can improve letter recognition in children in Banne Marendeng Kindergarten.
