Abstract
Aji Restu Sauran (2220154343) In 2019 compilcd a thesis entitlcd Terminal Illnes (Analysis of Pastoral Care for Families of Terminal Illnes Patients at Elim Rantepao Hospital). Under the guidance of Herman Titting, M.Pd.K and Dr. Setrianto Tarrapa, M.Pd.K. Pastoral care aims to assist people who face problems including disease problems for patients and for their families. That is why pastoral care is so important to be implemented in the Hospital. The choice of this topic was motivated by the ineffectiveness of pastoral care for the families of Terminal Illnes patients at Elim Rantepao Hospital. The families has not received optimal pastoral care because the pastoral officers only focuses on the patients. Even though the families experiences psychological pressure such as shock, distrust, sadness, crying, despair, and fear of loss. By looking at this condition, pastoral care is needed by the patients families. The formulation of the problem examined in this thesis is how is pastoral care for families of terminal illness patients at Elim Rantepao Hospital? And the purpose of this paper is to analyze pastoral care for families of Terminal Illness patients at Elim Rantepao Hospital. And to obtain data related to the above topic, the authors carry out research with a qualitative approach by means of interviews and observations. The results showed that pastoral care for the families of Terminal Illnes patients at Elim Rantepao Hospital was not maximal and effective. This can be seen from the absence of special time for families of patients to meet privately with pastoral officers at Elim Rantepao Hospital, due to time constraints, families situation, lack of pastoral officers, and pastoral officers on duty who are less competent and do not understand mentoring deep pastoral. So that pastoral assistance has not been effective and maximal. Keywords: Pastoral Care, Terminal Illness, Families, Hospital. Terminal Illnes (Analisis Pendampingan Pastoral bagi Keluarga Pasien Terminal Illnes di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao). Dibawah bimbingan Herman Titting, M.Pd.K dan Dr. Setrianto Tarrapa, M.Pd.K. Pendampingan pastoral tujuannya untuk mendampingi orang yang menghadapi persoalan termasuk persoalan penyakit bagi pasien dan bagi keluarga pasien. Itulah sebabnya pendampingan pastoral begitu penting dilaksanakan di Rumah Sakit. Pemilihan topik ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang efektifnya pendampingan pastoral bagi keluarga pasien Terminal Illnes di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao. Keluarga belum mendapatkan pendampingan pastoral secara optimal karena petugas pastoral hanya fokus pada pasien. Padahal keluarga mengalami tekanan psikologis seperti kaget, tidak percaya, sedih, menangis, putus asa, dan takut kehilangan. Dengan melihat kondisi ini, maka pendampingan pastoral sangat dibutuhkan oleh keluarga pasien. Rumusan masalah yang dikaji dalam skripsi ini ialah bagaimana pendampingan pastoral bagi keluarga pasien terminal illness di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao? Dan Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk menganalisis pendampingan pastoral bagi keluarga pasien Terminal Illness di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao Dan untuk mendapatkan data sehubungan dengan topik diatas, maka penulis melaksanakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan pastoral bagi keluarga pasien Terminal Illnes di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao belum maksimal dan efektif. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari tidak adanya waktu khusus bagi keluarga pasien untuk bertemu secara pribadi dengan petugas pastoral di Rumah Sakit Elim Rantepao, karena keterbatasan waktu, situasi keluarga yang tidak memungkinkan serta kurangnya petugas pastoral, dan petugas pastoral yang bertugas kurang kompeten dan belum memahami pendampingan pastoral secara mendalam. Sehingga pendampingan pastoral belum berjalan efektif dan maksimal. Kata kuci: Pendampingan Pastoral, Terminal Illnes, Keluarga, RumahSakit.
