Abstract
ABSTRACT Agustina Lai’rero: 2020154164 years 2015 Thesis Title Analysis of Doctoral Position based on Calvin's Teachings in the Toraja Church. Guided by Dr. Setrianto Tarrapa, M.Pd.K as mentor I and Dr. Andarias Kabanga M.Th. as supervisor II. Thus the goal to be achieved from this thesis is to find out about the reason the Toraja Church does not populate doctoral positions in the Toraja Church, because the doctoral position is a very important position because it serves as a biblical interpreter, catechetical instructor, and maintains the purity of teachings in the church. But this doctoral position was not politicized in the Toraja Church. This is the thinking of the author to see why the doctoral position is not popularity in the Toraja Church. To achieve the above goals the author uses qualitative research methods by using literature studies, observation and interviews. From the results of the study prove that the doctoral position is not popularized in the Toraja Church because the Toraja Church considers that this doctoral position already exists in a pastor, elder, and deacon. But according to the author, this doctoral position must be carried out in the congregation because the pastor’s duties are too many. So in the church a Christian Education teacher needs to be more focused on teaching catechism, premarital teaching, Sunday School, Youth, because when it is the duty of a pastor the effectiveness of the ministry will not be realized as the Toraja Church’s mission is peace for all, because it is impossible for a pastor in this case to carry out all the tasks in the church on the one hand, the pastor is also not provided with methodical activities, therefore in a church, Christian teachers need to understand the active concept.
