Abstract

Indonesia memiliki keberagaman kebudayaan dan tradisi yang membentuk identitas masyarakat di berbagai daerah. Salah satu kebudayaan lokal yang memperkaya kebudayaan nasional adalah kebudayaan Toraja, yang memiliki sistem nilai religius terintegrasi dalam adat, ritus, dan kehidupan kekeluargaan. Tradisi Massabu Patane merupakan ritual peresmian Patane sebagai tempat peristirahatan terakhir dan sebagai ungkapan syukur keluarga kepada Tuhan.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna teologi kultural dari tradisi Massabu Patane serta implikasinya terhadap aktualisasi kasih dalam kehidupan Gereja Toraja Jemaat Dulang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan studi etnografi. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memperkaya pemahaman teologi kultural Gereja Toraja dalam mengaktualisasikan nilai kasih Kristen di tengah kebudayaan lokal di Toraja. Kata kunci: Kebudayaan Toraja, Massabu Patane, Teologi Kultural, Kasih. ABSTRACT Indonesia has a diversity of cultures and traditions that shape the identity of communities in various regions. One of the local cultures that enriches the national culture is the Toraja culture, which has a religious value system integrated into customs, rites, and family life. The Massabu Patane tradition is a ritual to inaugurate Patane as a final resting place and as an expression of the family's gratitude to God. This study aims to examine the cultural theological meaning of the Massabu Patane tradition and its implications for the actualization of love in the life of the Toraja Church, Dulang Congregation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method with ethnographic studies. The results of the study are expected to enrich the understanding of the cultural theology of the Toraja Church in actualizing the value of Christian love amidst local culture in Toraja.
