Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi apa yang digunakan oleh guru PAUD dalam mengenalkan numerik kepada anak usia 5–6 tahun di TK Negeri 1 Mengkendek. Pengenalan numerik pada usia dini sangat penting sebagai dasar pembelajaran matematika di jenjang berikutnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi utama yang digunakan guru adalah pembelajaran berbasis bermain, khususnya melalui media puzzle angka, bernyanyi lagu angka, dan pendekatan kontekstual menggunakan benda konkret. Strategi ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman anak terhadap angka serta melatih kemampuan motorik halus. Meskipun terdapat beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan sarana dan perbedaan karakteristik anak, guru tetap berupaya menyesuaikan pendekatan pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Evaluasi dilakukan secara berkala dengan fokus pada proses perkembangan anak, bukan semata-mata hasil akhir. Kesimpulannya, strategi pembelajaran yang kreatif dan menyenangkan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan pengenalan numerik anak usia dini secara efektif dan bermakna. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the strategies used by early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in introducing numeracy to children aged 5–6 years at TK Negeri 1 Mengkendek. Early numeracy introduction is crucial as a foundational skill for future mathematical learning. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the main strategies used by teachers involve play-based learning, particularly through numerical puzzles, number songs, and contextual approaches using concrete objects. These strategies effectively enhance children's interest and understanding of numbers, as well as improve their fine motor skills. Despite challenges such as limited learning resources and the varying characteristics of students, teachers strive to adapt their teaching methods to meet the children's needs. Evaluation is conducted regularly, focusing on the learning process and children's developmental progress rather than merely on outcomes. In conclusion, creative and enjoyable learning strategies play a significant role in effectively and meaningfully improving early numeracy skills among young children.
