Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa, yang memerlukan intervensi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik modeling simbolic berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII D di UPT SMP Kristen Makale. Teknik modeling simbolic dalam bimbingan kelompok dipilih sebagai upaya untuk mendorong terbentuknya perilaku belajar yang positif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 20 siswa, 10 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 10 siswa kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket skala motivasi belajar, yang terdiri dari empat kategori: sangat setuju, setuju, tidak setuju, dan sangat tidak setuju. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata motivasi belajar kelompok eksperimen meningkat dari 54,70 menjadi 85,70, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya mengalami peningkatan dari 78,50 menjadi 81,30. Hasil uji Independent Samples t-Test menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung = 2,476 dan sig. (2-tailed) = 0,23 < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa, hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H₁). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok teknik modeling simbolic berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: Bimbingan Kelompok, Modeling Simbolic, Motivasi Belajar. Abstract This research is motivated by the lack of student learning motivation, which requires intervention to address the issue. The purpose of this study is to determine whether group counseling services using symbolic modeling techniques have an effect on improving the learning motivation of eighth-grade students in Class VIII D at UPT SMP Kristen Makale. The symbolic modeling technique in group counseling was chosen as an effort to foster positive learning behavior. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total sample of 20 students, consisting of 10 students in the experimental group and 10 students in the control group. Data were collected through a learning motivation scale questionnaire, which included four categories: strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. The results showed that the average learning motivation score of the experimental group increased from 54.70 to 85.70, while the control group only increased from 78.50 to 81.30. The results of the Independent Samples t-Test showed that the t-value = 2.476 and the significance (2-tailed) = 0.023 < 0.05. This indicates that the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that group counseling services using the symbolic modeling technique have a significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation.
