Abstract
Resti Arrena Pasombo, Nirm 2020154073. Compiled a thesis entitled "Biblical Study of the Story of Jonah as a Typology of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ", which was submitted to the Sekolah Tinggi Agama Kristen Negeri (STAKN) Toraja. Mentor I Dr. Maydiantius, M.Th. Mentor II Yelinda Sri Silvia, M.Th. The choice of this title is motivated by the author to see that there is a connection between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Specifically, the focus of the writer is the story of Jonah in the belly of the fish and the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a form of typology. To find the typology between the two events or the intended story, the author looks at typological steps and finds affirmations based on libraries that write about both events or stories in a historical perspective. The author saw the story that was experienced by Jonah when he received GOD's call but fled to Tarshish and then on the way of the determination of the LORD Jonah was swallowed by a big fish and was in the belly of the big fish three days and three nights. Jesus answered the request of the Sadducees, the scribes and Pharisees by referring to the sign of Jonah. Based on the typological steps that exist and some other literature that became the writer's reference, it is said that in His teaching Jesus used the story or event in the Old Testament namely the story of Jonah this indicates the fact that Jesus was referring to a story that was really never happened as an affirmation for His self is also right. Jonah became a type in the Old Testament while Jesus himself was the antitype iri the New Testament so that it is understoOd that the event of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a form of correspondence in the story of Jonah.
