Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah rendahnya kesadaran dan kepedulian siswa terhadap kebersihan lingkungan di UPT SDN 7 Makale Utara. Banyak siswa masih membuang sampah sembarangan dan kurang aktif dalam kegiatan kebersihan, meskipun sekolah telah menerapkan berbagai upaya pembiasaan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode pembiasaan dalam meningkatkan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa, hasil implementasi metode pembiasaan serta mengidentifikasi faktor penghambat.. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan guru, kepala sekolah, dan siswa, serta dokumentasi kegiatan sekolah. Analisis data dilakukan secara reduksi, display, dan verifikasi dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembiasaan telah diterapkan secara rutin melalui kegiatan membersihkan kelas, halaman, toilet, dan menyiram tanaman sebelum pembelajaran. Metode ini didukung oleh konsistensi jadwal, teladan guru, dan integrasi nilai agama. Namun, masih terdapat hambatan seperti kurangnya pengawasan berkelanjutan dan pengaruh lingkungan luar. Secara keseluruhan, metode pembiasaan berkontribusi positif terhadap pembentukan karakter peduli lingkungan, meskipun memerlukan penguatan lebih lanjut. ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the issue of students' low awareness and concern regarding environmental cleanliness at UPT SDN 7 Makale Utara. Many students still litter and lack active participation in cleanliness activities, despite the school's implementation of various habituation-based measures. The study aimed to describe the implementation of the habituation method in fostering students' environmentally conscious character, the results of this implementation, and the identifying factors that hinder the process. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Data collection involved observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, the principal, and students, as well as the documentation of school activities. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, display, and verification, utilizing source triangulation. The results indicate that the habituation method was routinely implemented through activities such as cleaning classrooms, the schoolyard, and restrooms, as well as watering plants prior to lessons. This method was supported by consistent scheduling, teachers setting a good example, and the integration of religious values. However, obstacles remained, such as a lack of continuous supervision and the influence of the external environment. Overall, the habituation method contributed positively to the development of an environmentally conscious character, although it requires further strengthening.
