Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penerapan metode kerja kelompok pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang belum mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Rantetayo, meskipun metode tersebut telah diterapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan metode tersebut belum efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas satu orang guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dan enam siswa kelas VIIB. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi awal sebagai data pendukung, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode kerja kelompok telah diterapkan, namun belum berjalan optimal karena dipengaruhi oleh pembentukan kelompok yang belum seimbang, kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap tugas, rendahnya partisipasi dan tanggung jawab dalam kelompok, perbedaan minat belajar, pengaruh teman sebaya, lingkungan belajar yang kurang kondusif, serta kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap sistem penilaian. Faktor-faktor tersebut menyebabkan motivasi belajar siswa belum meningkat secara optimal. Kata Kunci: Metode Kerja Kelompok, Motivasi Belajar, Pendidikan Agama Kristen. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the implementation of group work methods in Christian Religious Education learning which has not been able to improve the learning motivation of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Rantetayo, even though the method has been implemented. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause the method to be ineffective in improving student learning motivation. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of one Christian Religious Education teacher and six seventh grade students. Data were collected through interviews and initial observations as supporting data, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the group work method has been implemented, but has not run optimally due to the influence of unbalanced group formation, lack of student understanding of the task, low participation and responsibility in the group, differences in learning interests, peer influence, a less conducive learning environment, and students' lack of understanding of the assessment system. These factors cause students' learning motivation to not increase optimally. Keywords: Group Work Methods, Learning Motivation, Christian Religious Education.
