Abstract
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kecenderungan perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa Program Studi Kepemimpinan Kristen angkatan 2021 dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi belanja online, khususnya Shopee. Mahasiswa sering tergoda penawaran seperti diskon besar, gratis ongkir, dan flash sale, sehingga melakukan pembelian tanpa pertimbangan kebutuhan. Tujuan utama dari studi ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pembentukan perilaku konsumtif, memahami pengaruh psikologi keuangan terhadap keputusan belanja, serta menelusuri cara mahasiswa mengelola keuangan pribadi dan mengendalikan kebiasaan konsumtif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, untuk menggali makna pengalaman belanja mahasiswa secara mendalam. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa perilaku impulsif didorong oleh interaksi berbagai faktor psikologis seperti bias kognitif, emosi, overconfidence, loss aversion, serta pengaruh sosial dan promosi digital. Sebagian mahasiswa mencoba mengatur keuangan melalui anggaran dan membatasi akses aplikasi, namun masih kesulitan dalam pengendalian diri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi edukasi keuangan yang relevan dan aplikatif dalam konteks kehidupan mahasiswa. ABSTRACT This study explores the consumerist behavior of students from the 2021 Christian Leadership Study Program in using online shopping applications, particularly Shopee. Students tend to be influenced by promotions such as big discounts, free shipping, and flash sales, often making purchases without real necessity. The main objective of this research is to identify how consumerist behavior develops, examine the influence of financial psychology on purchasing decisions, and explore how students manage their personal finances and control their spending habits. This research applies a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to deeply understand students’ subjective experiences in online shopping. Findings reveal that impulsive buying behavior is driven by various psychological factors such as cognitive bias, emotion, overconfidence, loss aversion, as well as social influence and digital advertising. Although some students attempt to manage expenses through budgeting and limiting app usage, self-control remains weak. Therefore, contextual financial education strategies are needed to support wiser financial decision-making among students.
