Abstract

Kondisi remaja yang mengalami body shaming ketika ia merasa minder tentang kondisi tubuh yang tidak seideal tubuh orang lain. Kondisi ini dapat menjadi lebih parah jika terjadi unsur ejekan tentang postur tubuh yang dimiliki remaja bahkan menimbulkan munculnya perasaan tertekan, down, dan terbebani, pada korban dari kasus body shaming. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif (studi kasus) dengan metode wawancara, observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hilangnya rasa percaya diri remaja diakibatkan perlakuan body shaming yang didapatkan remaja dari teman-teman sebayanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak body shaming terhadap pembentukan karakter remaja di Lembang Kapolang Kecamatan Denpina Kabupaten Toraja Utara. pandangan yang diberikan oleh masyarakat terkait standar kecantikan atas tubuh seseorang kepada orang lain yang menyebabkan timbulnya rasa malu pada diri korban bahkan kondisi mental atau psikologis diri seseorang yang memberi keyakinan kuat pada dirinya untuk berbuat atau melakukan suatu tindakan. Kata kunci :Body Shaming, Pembentukan Karakter, Remaja. ABSTRACT The condition of teenagers who experience body shaming is when they feel inferior about their body condition which is not as ideal as other people's bodies. This condition can become worse if there is an element of teasing about a teenager's body posture, even giving rise to feelings of pressure, down, and burden, in victims of body shaming cases. This research uses qualitative research (case study) with interview and observation methods. The results of the research show that teenagers' loss of self-confidence is due to the body shaming treatment that teenagers receive from their peers. The aim of this research is to find out the impact of body shaming on the character formation of teenagers in Lembang Kapolang, Denpina District, North Toraja Regency. views given by society regarding beauty standards for a person's body to other people which causes feelings of shame in the victim and even a person's mental or psychological condition which gives a strong belief in him to act or carry out an action.
