Abstract

NOVA SALOMBE’, “ Suatu Kajian Teologis Terhadap Pemahaman dan Pelaksanaan Disiplin Gerejawi di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Hermon Kandua Klasis Rembon”. (dibimbing oleh Sumiaty dan Yonatan Sumarto ). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman dan pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi di gereja Toraja Jemaat Hermon Kandua, Klasis Rembon Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah dengan cara mengamati (observasi) dan melakukan wawancara (interview), dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh informasi sekaitan dengan pemahaman dan pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi di Jemaat Hermon Kandua’, Klasis Rembon. Setelah pengumpulan data dilakukan analisis yang bertujuan mendapatkan makna dari apa yang sedang diteiliti. Adapun metode analisis data yang digunakan oleh peneliti yakni reduksi data, penyajian data, interpretasi data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disiplin gerejawi adalah aturan yang tertuang dalam Tata Gereja Toraja yang harus diterapkan di dalam jemaat karena disiplin gerejawi adalah sebuah tindakan yang sangat baik guna sebagai peringatan dan nasihat bagi saudara-saudara yang telah melanggar kehendak Allah. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi ialah untuk mengikat hubungan jemaat dengan gereja agar tidak terjadi kekacauan, dan ketidakteraturan dalam gereja.Pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi bersumber dan berdasarkan pada Firman Tuhan yang harus dilaksanakan dengan kasih. Namun pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi di Jemaat Hermon Kandua’ masih belum terlaksana dengan baik dikarenakan ada beberapa penghambat dalam pelaksanaan disiplin gerejawi tersebut seperti kurangnya pemahaman warga jemaat mengenai disiplin gerejawi,kurangnya perhatian majelis gereja dan adanya struktur sosial.
