Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perilaku hedonisme remaja di Dusun Leso, Lembang Buakayu ditinjau dari pendekatan rasional emotif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori A-B-C ( Activiting Event, belief, Consequence) yang dikemukakan oleh Albert Ellis untuk menjelaskan bahwa perilaku seseorang dipengaruhi oleh cara individu memaknai suatu peristiwa. Metode yang diguakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskiptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi terhadap remaja yang dipilih sebagai informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku hedonisme dipengaruhi oleh adanya keyakinan irasional yang terbentuk dalam pola pikir mereka. Remaja cenderung memandang bahwa kebahagiaan, kepuasan diri dan penerimaan sosial dapat dicapai melalui kepemilikan barang-barang tertentu serta mengikuti tren yang berkembang di lingkungan sosial maupun media sosial. Keyakinan tersebut mendorong munculnya perilaku konsumtif, pengambilan Kesimpulan yang impulsif, serta kurangnya kemampuan dalam mengolah keuangan secara bijak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan rasional emotif dapat membantu memahami penyebab perilaku hedonisme serta menjadi dasar dalam membangun pola pikir yang lebih rasional agar remaja mampu mengendalikan perilakunya. Kata Kunci: Perilaku hedonisme, remaja, pendekatan rasional emotif ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the hedonistic behavior of adolescents in Leso Hamlet, Lembang Buakayu, through the lens of the Rational Emotive approach. It employs the A-B-C theory (Activating Event, Belief, Consequence) proposed by Albert Ellis to explain that an individual's behavior is influenced by how they interpret events. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was used, and data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation involving selected adolescent informants. The results indicate that hedonistic behavior is driven by irrational beliefs formed within the adolescents' mindset. They tend to perceive happiness, self-satisfaction, and social acceptance as attainable through the ownership of specific goods and by following trends prevalent in both their social environments and on social media. These beliefs foster consumerist behavior, impulsive decision-making, and a lack of ability to manage finances wisely. The study concludes that the Rational Emotive approach helps elucidate the causes of hedonistic behavior and serves as a foundation for cultivating a more rational mindset, thereby enabling adolescents to exercise greater control over their behavior.
