Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan potensi dan keterampilan siswa melalui kegiatan Pramuka di SMPN 2 Bonggakaradeng. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada pentingnya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka sebagai wadah pembentukan karakter, kedisiplinan, serta pengembangan soft skill dan life skill siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, dua pembina Pramuka, dan lima siswa kelas VIII, serta dokumentasi kegiatan Pramuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam mengelola kegiatan Pramuka diterapkan melalui lima aspek utama, yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, pengawasan–evaluasi, dan kolaborasi. Pada tahap perencanaan, kepala sekolah menyusun program Pramuka secara sistematis melalui rapat bersama pembina dan perwakilan siswa untuk menentukan jadwal, materi, dan target capaian. Pada tahap pengorganisasian, pembagian tugas dilakukan berdasarkan kompetensi pembina, serta pembentukan struktur kepemimpinan siswa melalui pembagian regu. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan secara rutin dan berorientasi praktik, seperti baris-berbaris, tali temali, pioneering, perkemahan, pertolongan pertama, dan kegiatan sosial. Tahap pengawasan dan evaluasi dilakukan melalui monitoring langsung saatxi kegiatan berlangsung, penilaian keaktifan, serta evaluasi hasil kegiatan. Selain itu, strategi kolaborasi dengan orang tua, alumni, TNI/Polisi, Puskesmas, dan Kwartir Ranting berkontribusi besar dalam meningkatkan kualitas kegiatan Pramuka. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the principal’s leadership strategies in improving students’ potential and skills through Scout activities at SMPN 2 Bonggakaradeng. The study is based on the premise that Scout activities function as an extracurricular platform that contributes significantly to character formation, discipline, soft skills, and life skills development. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, two Scout instructors, and five eighth-grade students, as well as documentation of Scout activities. The findings reveal that the principal’s leadership strategies in managing Scout activities are implemented through five core aspects, namely planning, organizing, implementation, supervision–evaluation, and collaboration. In the planning stage, the principal systematically designs Scout programs through meetings with instructors and student representatives to determine schedules, learning materials, and targeted competencies. In the organizing stage, task distribution is carried out based on the professional skills of each instructor, along with the formation of student leadership structures through patrol divisions. The implementation stage occurs routinely and is practice-oriented, involving activities such as marching, knotting, pioneering, camping, first aid training, and socialxiii service. Supervision and evaluation are conducted through direct monitoring of activities, assessment of student activeness, and evaluation of activity outcomes. Furthermore, collaboration with parents, alumni, the Military/Police, the Health Centre (Puskesmas), and the District Scout Council plays a major role in enhancing the quality and continuity of Scout programs. The study concludes that comprehensive principal leadership strategies have a significant impact on improving students’ potential, character, and practical skills. Scout activities are proven to be an effective educational medium in shaping disciplined, confident, responsible, and collaborative students.
