Abstract
SMA Negeri 2 Tana Toraja memiliki siswa dengan latar belakang karakter dan tingkat kematangan beragama yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dalam membangun kematangan beragama siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Tana Toraja. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dan lima siswa kelas X3, observasi, serta dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teori peran guru dan konsep kematangan beragama menurut Glock dan Stark serta Allport. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen menjalankan lima peran, yaitu sebagai fasilitator, motivator, teladan, pembimbing rohani, dan penyampai firman Tuhan. Kelima peran ini berkontribusi dalam membentuk pemahaman iman, penghayatan spiritual, sikap religius, serta perilaku moral siswa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peran ini mencerminkan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Kristen tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pengajaran kognitif, tetapi juga membentuk spiritualitas dan karakter Kristiani yang utuh pada diri siswa. ABSTRACT SMA Negeri 2 Tana Toraja is home to students with diverse character backgrounds and varying levels of religious maturity. This study aims to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education teachers in developing students’ religious maturity. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with data collected through interviews with a Christian Religious Education teacher and five 10th-grade students, as well as observations and documentation. Data were analyzed using teacher role theory and the concepts of religious maturity proposed by Glock, Stark, and Allport. The findings show that the teacher fulfills five key roles: facilitator, motivator, role model, spiritual guide, and transmitter of God’s word. These roles help shape students’ understanding of faith, spiritual awareness, religious attitudes, and moral behavior. Overall, Christian Religious Education serves not only as cognitive instruction but also as a means of fostering holistic spiritual development and Christian character formation in students.
