Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif pada anak khususnya pada kemampuan mengenal angka sangat penting bagi anak usia dini, itu karena kemampuan mengenal angka pada anak diperlukan sebagai dasar matematika untuk masuk ke jenjang pendidikan dasar. Namun, di TK Kristen Balo’ Marendeng ditemukan bahwa kemampuan mengenal angka masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan media roda putar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal angka kepada anak di TK Kristen Balo’ Marendeng. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Berdasarkan Hasil penelitian pada siklus I terdapat 66, 6% dan meningkat pada siklus II mencapai 85, 7% pada kriteria berkembang sangat baik. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media roda putar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal angka dan telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yaitu 75%. Kata Kunci: media roda putar, kemampuan mengenal angka. ABSTRACT Cognitive development in children, especially in the ability to recognize numbers, is very important for early childhood, because the ability to recognize numbers in children is needed as a basis for mathematics to enter elementary education. However, in Balo' Marendeng Christian Kindergarten it was found that the ability to recognize numbers is still low. The purpose of the study was to determine the application of rotating wheel media to improve the ability to recognize numbers in children at Balo' Marendeng Christian Kindergarten. The method used in this study is the classroom action research method which is carried out in two cycles. Based on the results of the study in cycle I there were 66.6% and increased in cycle II reaching 85.7% in the criteria of developing very well. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the application of rotating wheel media can improve the ability to recognize numbers and has achieved a success indicator of 75%.
