Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan kekerasan verbal yang dialami anak usia 5–6 tahun dan pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional anak. Kekerasan verbal dari orang tua dapat menghambat kemampuan anak dalam mengenali dan mengelola emosi, menjalin interaksi sosial, serta membentuk kepercayaan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan sosial-emosional anak yang mengalami kekerasan verbal di Kelurahan Benteng Ambeso. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak mengalami hambatan dalam mengenali emosi, cenderung menunjukkan perilaku agresif dalam berinteraksi, serta belum sepenuhnya mampu mematuhi aturan. Kekerasan verbal memberikan dampak negatif yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional anak usia dini dan perlu ditangani melalui dukungan dari keluarga dan lingkungan sekitar. Kata kunci: perkembangan sosial-emosional, kekerasan verbal, studi kasus ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the issue of verbal abuse experienced by children aged 5–6 years and its impact on their social-emotional development. Verbal abuse from parents can hinder a child’s ability to recognize and manage emotions, build positive social interactions, and develop self-confidence. The purpose of this study is to analyze the social-emotional development of children who experience verbal abuse in Benteng Ambeso Village. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. The findings reveal that the child encounters difficulties in recognizing emotions, tends to display aggressive behavior in social interactions, has not yet fully complied with rules, and lacks motivation and confidence in learning activities. Verbal abuse has a significant negative impact on early childhood social-emotional development and must be addressed through support from family and the surrounding environment.
