Abstract
Di era globalisasi, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menjadi sangat penting untuk menghadapi tantangan kompleks. Berdasarkan pengamatan awal, Masalah yang terjadi ialah siswa kelas XI SMA Kristen Makale memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis yang masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Snowball Throwing. Teori yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah teori FRISCO berpikir kritis Robert H. Ennis dan teori Snowball Throwing oleh Leonita Manihuruk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis & McTaggart, yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, yaitu dari 27% pada Siklus I menjadi 88% pada Siklus II. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model Snowball Throwing efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Snowball Throwing. Abstract In the era of globalization, students' critical thinking skills have become crucial in facing complex challenges. Based on preliminary observations, the identified issue is that the critical thinking ability of Class XI students at SMA Kristen Makale is still relatively low. This study aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills through the implementation of the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model. The theoretical foundation of this research is based on Robert H. Ennis' FRISCO critical thinking theory and Leonita Manihuruk's Snowball Throwing theory. This study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method developed by Kemmis & McTaggart, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection across two cycles. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills, increasing from 27% in Cycle I to 88% in Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the Snowball Throwing model is effective in developing students' critical thinking abilities. Keywords: Critical Thinking, Cooperative Learning, Snowball Throwing.
