Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tekanan ganda yang dialami individu generasi sandwich di Jemaat Buntu Pasele Rantepao, yang diperumit oleh nilai budaya Toraja longko'. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengalaman psikologis-spiritual individu generasi sandwich, menganalisis dampak konflik peran ganda, serta merumuskan model pendampingan pastoral yang kontekstual. Kajian bertolak dari Teori Peran Ganda (Role Theory) dan konsep pendampingan pastoral. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis secara interaktif dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tekanan psikologis multidimensional berupa kecemasan finansial dan burnout, di mana longko' bersifat dialektis, mendorong penarikan diri di satu sisi namun menjadi sumber etos kerja dan ketahanan diri di sisi lain, tergantung pengalaman personal dan dukungan yang diterima. Iman menjadi sumber resiliensi utama, namun tetap memerlukan dukungan pendampingan pastoral yang holistik dan kontekstual agar generasi sandwich mampu menghadapi bebannya secara sehat. Kata Kunci: generasi sandwich, pendampingan pastoral, budaya longko’ ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the dual pressures experienced by sandwich generation individuals in the Buntu Pasele Rantepao Congregation, which are complicated by the Toraja cultural value of longko'. The research aims to describe the psychological and spiritual experiences of sandwich generation individuals, analyze the impact of dual role conflict, and formulate a contextual pastoral care model. The study is based on Dual Role Theory and the concept of pastoral care. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed interactively using triangulation. The results reveal multidimensional psychological pressures in the form of financial anxiety and burnout, where longko' is dialectical, encouraging withdrawal on the one hand but serving as a source of work ethic and resilience on the other, depending on personal experiences and the support received. Faith is a primary source of resilience, but holistic and contextual pastoral care is still needed for the sandwich generation to cope healthily with their burdens.
