Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Pendidikan Kristiani dalam mengatasi dampak cyber bullying kelas XI 2 di SMA Kristen Makale. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Kristiani memiliki tiga peran utama. Pendidikan Kristiani berperan dalam membentuk karakter dan moral Kristen dengan menanamkan nilai kasih, kesabaran, keadilan, sikap menghargai, dan penguasaan diri sebagai fondasi moral dalam penggunaan media digital. Pendidikan Kristiani berperan mengatasi dampak cyber bullying melalui tiga aspek utama. Pertama, Pendidikan Kristiani berperan dalam membentuk karakter dan moral peserta didik. Kedua, Pendidikan Kristiani berperan dalam menumbuhkan iman dan kedewasaan rohani peserta didik melalui pembelajaran yang menekankan kemampuan membedakan benar dan salah, pengelolaan emosi, serta pembentukan identitas rohani yang kuat sehingga mampu menghadapi tekanan akibat cyber bullying. Ketiga, Pendidikan Kristiani berperan dalam membimbing penerapan nilai dalam kehidupan sosial dengan menanamkan sikap toleransi, empati, tanggung jawab, pengendalian diri, dan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan. Sesuai penelitian penulis peran Pendidikan Kristiani mampu membantu peserta didik mencegah serta mengatasi dampak cyber bullying, sekaligus membangun hubungan sosial yang harmonis dan menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang lebih sehat secara moral dan spiritual. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the role of Christian Education in addressing the impact of cyberbullying among students of Class XI-2 at Makale Christian High School. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and literature review. The findings reveal that Christian Education plays three main roles. First, it contributes to shaping students’ character and moral values by instilling principles such as love, patience, justice, respect, and self-control, which serve as a moral foundation for the responsible use of digital media. Second, Christian Education helps address the impact of cyberbullying through three key aspects. It fosters character and moral development, strengthens students’ faith and spiritual maturity, and equips them with the ability to distinguish right from wrong, manage emotions, and develop a strong spiritual identity. These qualities enable students to cope with the pressures caused by cyberbullying. Third, Christian Education guides the application of these values in social life by promoting tolerance, empathy, responsibility, self-control, and respect for diversity. Based on the findings, the study concludes that Christian Education plays a significant role in helping students prevent and overcome the effects of cyberbullying, while also fostering harmonious social relationships and creating a morally and spiritually healthy school environment.
