Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara historis dan teologis tradisi Hari Tertentu atau Allo Pallin yang hidup dan dipraktikkan oleh masyarakat di Desa Masuppu. Tradisi ini merupakan salah satu bentuk kearifan lokal yang berkaitan dengan masa berkabung setelah peristiwa kematian. Secara historis, Allo Pallin diyakini telah ada sejak abad ke-16 dan diwariskan secara turun-temurun sebagai bagian dari identitas budaya masyarakat setempat. Tradisi ini tidak hanya memiliki makna sosial dan kultural, tetapi juga memuat nilai-nilai spiritual yang memengaruhi kehidupan iman masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan tokoh adat, tokoh gereja, dan pemerintah setempat, serta melalui studi pustaka yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Allo Pallin dipahami sebagai hari khusus yang ditetapkan setelah penguburan untuk mengungkapkan solidaritas, penghiburan, serta penghormatan kepada keluarga yang berduka. Dalam pelaksanaannya, masyarakat berkumpul di rumah duka, mempererat kebersamaan, dan menaati nilai-nilai adat yang berlaku. Dari perspektif teologis, tradisi Allo Pallin dapat dipahami sebagai ekspresi iman yang kontekstual. Praktik ini mencerminkan nilai-nilai Kristiani seperti kasih, penghiburan, persekutuan, dan pengharapan akan kebangkitan. Kesimpulannya, Allo Pallin merupakan tradisi yang memiliki akar historis kuat dan relevansi teologis yang signifikan bagi masyarakat Desa Masuppu. Tradisi ini berfungsi sebagai sarana memperkuat solidaritas sosial sekaligus menjadi ruang aktualisasi iman dalam konteks budaya lokal. Oleh karena itu, Allo Pallin layak dipahami dan dikembangkan sebagai bagian dari teologi kontekstual yang menghargai budaya tanpa kehilangan esensi ajaran Kristen. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the historical and theological tradition of the Certain Day or Allo Pallin, which is lived and practiced by the people of Masuppu Village. This tradition is a form of local wisdom related to the mourning period after a death. Historically, Allo Pallin is believed to have existed since the 16th century and has been passed down through generations as part of the local community's cultural identity. This tradition not only has social and cultural significance but also contains spiritual values that influence the community's faith. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained through interviews with traditional leaders, church figures, and local government officials, as well as through relevant literature review. The results indicate that Allo Pallin is understood as a special day designated after a funeral to express solidarity, comfort, and respect for the bereaved family. During its observance, the community gathers at the funeral home, strengthening togetherness, and adhering to prevailing customary values. From a theological perspective, the Allo Pallin tradition can be understood as a contextual expression of faith. This practice reflects Christian values such as love, comfort, fellowship, and the hope of resurrection. In conclusion, Allo Pallin is a tradition with strong historical roots and significant theological relevance for the people of Masuppu Village. This tradition serves as a means of strengthening social solidarity and provides a space for the actualization of faith within the local cultural context. Therefore, Allo Pallin deserves to be understood and developed as part of a contextual theology that respects culture without losing the essence of Christian teachings.
