Abstract
Perkawinan merupakan suatu hal yang sakral karena menyatukan dua individu dalam ikatan janji suci di hadapan Allah. Akan tetapi yang menjadi persoalan dalam penelitian ini adalah tidak semua orang mampu untuk memaknai konsep perkawinan dengan baik sehingga kadangkala mengakibatkan perceraian. Sehingga menjadi tujuan penulis ialah melihat makna perkawinan dari segi kebudayaan melalui simbol daging dalam ma’parampo. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan ialah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan Bodgan dan Taylor. Hasil yang di temukan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa makna yang terdapat dalam potongan-potongan daging tersebut merupakan simbol yang dijadikan oleh segenap orang tua dalam memberikan petuah-petuah mengenai keutuhan dalam ikatan perkawinan kepada calon mempelai. Makna yang terkandung dalam potongan daging tersebut mengandung nilai tentang harapan dan doa-doa kepada calon mempelai dalam keutuhan rumah tangganya. Kata Kunci: Implikasi, Ma’parampo, Perkawinan, Simbol Daging. ABSTRACT Marriage is a sacred thing because it unites two individuals in a sacred bond of promise before God. However, the problem in this study is that not everyone is able to interpret the concept of marriage properly, which sometimes results in divorce. Therefore, the author’s goal is to see the meaning of marriage from a cultural perspective through the symbol of meat in ma’parampo. In this study, the method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with the Bodgan and Taylor approach. The marriage values contained in each piece of meat include kollong bai (neck part) Symbolizes an unbroken relationship like a wedding ring, buku leso (thigh part) depicts clarity and honesty in marriage, atena (heart part) emphasizes wisdom in distinguishing good from bad, awakna (waist part) shows respect and greatness, and karrana (hard part) symbolizes firmness in truth. The results found in the field indicate that the meaning contained in the pieces of meat is a symbol used by all parents in providing advice regarding the integrity of the marriage bond to the prospective bride and groom. The meanings contained in these pieces of meat convey hopes and prayers for the bride and groom for the integrity of their marriage. Keywords: Implications, Ma’parampo, Marriage, Meat Symbolism.
