Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji analisis teologis simbolik pengharapan pada tarian Bondesan serta implikasinya bagi Jemaat Buku Pongo’ Klasis Masanda. Pokok masalah penelitian ini adalah kurangnya pemahaman jemaat terhadap nilai-nilai teologis simbolik yang terkandung dalam tarian Bondesan, sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan pudarnya makna spiritual dan hilangnya tradisi ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis secara mendalam simbol-simbol pengharapan dalam tarian Bondesan dan merumuskan implikasinya secara teologis bagi jemaat, agar tarian ini tidak hanya menjadi tontonan tetapi juga sumber inspirasi spiritual. Teori dasar yang digunakan mencakup pendekatan teologis dan simbolik untuk menafsirkan makna tarian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tarian Bondesan kaya akan simbol-simbol pengharapan yang relevan dengan iman Kristen, dan implementasinya dalam kehidupan jemaat dapat memperkuat pemahaman spiritual serta melestarikan warisan budaya Toraja. ABSTRACT This research undertakes a theological-symbolic analysis of hope as expressed in the Bondesan dance and explores its implications for the Jemaat Buku Pongo’ Klasis Masanda congregation. The core problem addressed is the congregation's limited understanding of the symbolic theological values embedded within the Bondesan dance, which risks diminishing its spiritual significance and leading to the loss of this tradition. The primary objective of this study is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the symbols of hope found in the Bondesan dance and to articulate its theological implications for the congregation. This aims to ensure that the dance transcends mere performance and becomes a vital source of spiritual inspiration. The theoretical framework employed includes theological and symbolic approaches to interpret the dance's inherent meaning. A qualitative descriptive research method was utilized, with data collected through in-depth interviews with key informants and direct observation. The findings indicate that the Bondesan dance is rich in symbols of hope that are profoundly relevant to the Christian faith. The practical application of these insights within the congregation's life is expected to deepen their spiritual comprehension and contribute to the preservation of Torajan cultural heritage.
