Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas dekonstruksi konsep kecantikan dalam novel Cantik Itu Luka Karya Eka Kurniawan dan implikasinya terhadap nilai kristiani. Permasalahan yang diangkat adalah bagimama kecantikan yang dianggap sebagai anugerah justru menjadi sumber penderitaan serta bertentangan dengan nilai kristiani. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bagaimana konsep kecantikan dimaknai ulang melalui pendekatan nilai kristiani. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif studi pustaka dengan pendekatan analisis wacana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel ini meruntuhkan standar kecantikan fisik yang di agung-agungkan masyarakat dan menggambarkan kecantikan sebagai kutukan sosial. Sebaliknya, nilai kristiani menempatkan kecantikan batiniah seperti kasih, kesetiaan, dan kerendahan hati sebagai bentuk kecantikan sejati. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya membangun pemahaman kecantikan berdasarkan karakter iman, bukan hanya tampilan lahiriah. Kata kunci: Dekonstruksi, Kecantikan, Nilai Kristiani, Novel Cantik Itu Luka, Analisis Wacana. ABSTRACT This Study discusses the deconstruction of the concept of beauty in the novel Cantik Itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan and its impact on Christian values. The problem raised is how beauty, which is considered a gift, actually becomes a source of suffering, and is contrary to the values of Christian faith. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the concept of beauty is broken down and reinterpreted through a Christian value approach. The method used is qualitative , with a literature study with a discourse analysis approach as the main approach. The results of the study show that this novel breaks down the standars of physical beauty that are glorified by society and depicts beauty as a social curse. In contrast, Christiani values place inner beauty, such as compassion, loyality, and humalty as a from of true beauty. This study emphasizes the importance of building an understanding of beauty based on character and faith, not just external appearance.
