Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis tentang strategi guru dalam mendidik siswa broken home di SMP Kristen Makale pada kelas VIII D. Penelitian yang digunakan ini yakni berjenis kualitatif dengan didukung cara pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Fokus dari subjek penelitian ini yaitu terhadap strategi guru serta siswa broken home yang terkena kendala dalam aktivitas belajar di sekolah karena dampak orang tuanya yang bercerai. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan jika pendekatan yang digunakan oleh guru yaitu secara preventif dengan tujuan mencegah masalah muncul. Guru dalam pendekatan preventif melakukan hal seperti mendengarkan isi prasasti siswa dengan empati, karena dengan hal tersebut siswa lebih cepat terbuka. Guru memanggil nama mereka dengan lembut dan menanyakan kabar secara tulus sehingga siswa merasa lebih tenang dari pada ketika guru hanya berfokus pada tugas dan aturan, kemudian guru menggunakan strategi kuratif. Kuratif dilakukan saat masalah sudah muncul. Dan itulah yang paling banyak diterapkan di kelas VIIID. Ketika siswa bolos, guru tidak langsung menghukum, tapi mencari tahu alasannya. Ketika tugas tidak dikumpulkan, guru tidak langsung memberi nilai nol, tapi membuka ruang dialog. Ini adalah bentuk strategi kuratif: memperbaiki, bukan menghakimi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kehadiran guru menjadi salah satu faktor dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang baik bagi siswa broken home. Dengan demikian, strategi yang diterapkan guru mampu memberikan dampak baik terhadap perkembangan dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Kata kunci: Strategi guru, siswa broken home. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in educating broken-home students at Makale Christian Middle School in class VIII D. This study used a qualitative type supported by data collection methods through interviews and observations. The focus of this research subject is the strategies of teachers and broken-home students who experience obstacles in learning activities at school due to the impact of their parents' divorce. This study concludes that the approach used by teachers is preventive with the aim of preventing problems from arising. Teachers in a preventive approach do things such as listening to the contents of student inscriptions with empathy, because with this students are more quickly open. The teacher calls their names gently and asks how they are doing sincerely so that students feel calmer than when the teacher only focuses on assignments and rules, then the teacher uses curative strategies. Curative is done when the problem has arisen. And that is what is mostly applied in class VIIID. When students miss school, teachers do not immediately punish them, but find out the reason. When assignments are not submitted, the teacher does not immediately give a zero mark, but opens up space for dialogue. This is a form of curative strategy: repair, not judgment. This research found that the presence of teachers is one of the factors in creating a good learning environment for broken home students. Thus, the strategies implemented by teachers are able to have a good impact on students' development and self-confidence. Keywords: Teacher strategy, broken home students.
