Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk membangun teologi kontekstual pada masyarakat etnik To Lemo di Seko. Dengan judul “Berteologi Simbol Melalui Mantara Ba’san Pada Etnik To Lemo Di Seko Dengan Menggunakan Teori Simbol Clifford Geertz” untuk memperoleh tujuan tersebut maka penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan cara merampung data-data dari buku dan jurnal yang relevan dengan penelitian ini, selain itu peneliti melakukan wawancara kepada tokoh-tokoh adat, majelis gereja, dan masyarakat yang berkompeten memberikan informasi yang akurat sekaitan dengan penelitian ini, serta melakukan observasi di lapangan. selain itu, karena penelitian ini bersifat kebudayaan maka peneliti juga menggunakan pendekatan etnografi.Etnografi merupakan pendekatan yang empiris dan teoritis yang bertujuan mendapatkan deskripsi dan analisis yang mendalam mengenai kebudayaan berdasarkan penelitian lapangan yang insentif. Sehingga dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa,masyarakat etnik To Lemo secara khusus di Desa Beroppa mempertahankan dan melestarikan tradisi mantara ba’sandengan pandangan bahwa tradisi tersebut mengandung makna yang baik dalam kehidupan masyarakat To Lemo, karena dapat dijadikan sebagai media atau jembatan untuk menyampaikan doa-doa pengharapan akan kesembuhan kepada Tuhan. Selain itu, simbol mantara ba’san secara teologis mengandung empat unsur makna di dalam kehidupan masyarakat etnik To Lemo.Pertama pengharapan, kedua solidaritas, ketiga pastoral duka, dan keempat kepasrahan terhadap kematian.Oleh karena itu, tradisi mantara ba’san perlu dilestarikan dalam bingkai iman Kristen dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat secara khusus bergereja. ABSTRACK This research aims to build contextual theology in the To Lemo ethnic community in Seko. With the title "Symbol Theology Through Ba'san Mantara in To Lemo Di Seko Ethnicity Using Clifford Geertz's Symbol Theory" to achieve this goal, the author uses qualitative research methods by compiling data from books and journals that are relevant to this research, in addition to The researcher conducted interviews with traditional leaders, church councils and the community who were competent to provide accurate information related to this research, as well as making observations in the field. Apart from that, because this research is cultural in nature, the researcher also used an ethnographic approach. Ethnography is an empirical and theoretical approach that aims to obtain in-depth descriptions and analyzes of culture based on incentive field research. So from the results of this research it was found that the To Lemo ethnic community, specifically in Beroppa Village, maintains and preserves the mantara ba'san tradition with the view that this tradition contains good meaning in the lives of the To Lemo community, because it can be used as a medium or bridge to convey prayers. -prayer of hope for healing to God. Apart from that, the mantara ba'san symbol theologically contains four elements of meaning in the life of the To Lemo ethnic community. The first is hope, the second is solidarity, the third is pastoral grief, and the fourth is resignation to death. Therefore, the mantara ba'san tradition needs to be preserved within the framework of the Christian faith in social life, especially in the church.
