Abstract

Salah jurusan merupakan fenomena yang sering terjadi dalam dunia pendidikan. Banyak mahasiswa memilih jurusan tidak sesuai dengan minat dan bakatnya. Fenomena ini juga terjadi di IAKN Toraja khususnya di Program studi Pastoral Konseling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan konseling bagi mahasiswa yang salah jurusan program studi pastoral konseling di IAKN Toraja. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian maka pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian lapangan. Pendekatan kualitatif adalah pengumpulan data yang bertujuan untuk menafsirkan fenomena-fenomena yang terjadi di lingkungan alam dimana peneliti sebagai sarana utamanya. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan konseling perlu dilakukan sebelum melakukan konseling. Dari empat tahap konseling yang telah dilakukan penulis memilih pendekatan cognitive behavior therapy melalui teknik REBT karena pendekatan ini fokus pada hubungan pikiran, perasaan dan perilaku seseorang. Pendekatan ini diharapkan mampu menolong mahasiswa yang salah jurusan mengatasi masalahnya. Wrong major is a phenomenon that often occurs in the world ofeducation. Many students choose majors that are not in accordance with their interests an dtalents. This phenomenon also occurs at IAKN Toraja, especially in the Pastoral Counseling Study Program. This study ainis to describe counseling planning for students who are wrongly majoring in the pastoral counseling study program at LAKN Toraja. To achieve the research objectives, the research approach used by the author is a qualitative approach with field research methods. A qualitative approach is data collection that aims to interpret phenomena that occur in an environment where the researcher is the main tool. The data collection techniques used are interviews, obsevations, and documentation studies. The results of the research that has been done show that counseling planning needs to be done before doing counseling. From the four stages of counseling that have been carried out, the author chooses a cognitive behavior therapy approach through REBT techniques because this approach focuses on the relationship betwcen a person's thoughts, feelings and behavior. This approach is expected to be able to help students who have the wrong major overcome their problems.
