Abstract

ABSTRAK ARI (2120207827). “Optimalisasi Peranan Pemain Musik dalam Ibadah Minggu Gereja Toraja Jemaat Tabang Klasis Kurra Denpiku” (dibimbing oleh Hasrat Dewy Rante Allo, M.MG. dan Habel Kombong Kila’, M.Sn.) Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang optimalnya peran pemain musik dalam ibadah, seperti kurangnya penguasaan lagu, tanda sukat, penggunaan akord yang sering kali tidak sesuai dan juga pemilihan iringan musik yang belum tepat dengan suasana lagu. Oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemahaman majelis gereja dan pemain musik tentang peran pemain musik dalam ibadah, serta upaya apa saja yang telah dilakukan gereja untuk mengoptimalkan peran pemain musik dalam ibadah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, melalui observasi dan wawancara untuk memperoleh data-data yang valid untuk dianalisa. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa majelis gereja dan pemain musik memahami peran pemain musik dalam ibadah namun peran tersebut belum terlaksana dengan maksimal karena beberapa kendala, seperti kurangnya pengetahuan musik, minimnya keterampilan bermain musik dan membaca notasi, terbatasnya waktu persiapan dan belum dilaksanakan monitoring dan evaluasi. Upaya majelis dalam mengoptimalkan peran pemain musik dalam ibadah pun belum terlaksana dengan maksimal karena persoalan biaya. Kata Kunci : Peranan Pemusik, Jemaat dan Nyanyian Jemaat. ABSTRACT ARI (2120207827). “Optimizing the Role of Musical Players in the Sunday Worship of the Toraja Church of the Tabang Klasis Kurra Denpiku Church" (guided by Hasrat Dewy Rante Allo, M.MG. and Habel Kombong Kila', M.Sn.) This research is motivated by the less optimal role of music players in worship, such as lack of mastery of songs, measure marks, the use of chords that are often inappropriate and also the selection of musical accompaniment that is not right for the atmosphere of the song. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the understanding of church assemblies and music players about the role of music players in worship, as well as what efforts have been made by the church to optimize the role of music players in worship. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, through observation and interviews to obtain valid data for analysis. The results of the study show that church assemblies and music players understand the role of music players in worship but this role has not been carried out optimally due to several obstacles, such as lack of music knowledge, lack of skills in playing music and reading notation, limited preparation time and monitoring and evaluation have not been carried out. The assembly's efforts to optimize the role of music players in worship have not been carried out optimally due to cost problems. Keywords: The Role of Musicians, Congregations and Church Singing.
