Abstract

ABSTRACT Indra Palamba (20201542559) Department of Christian Theollogy. thesis title: Mambaja Kaburu’ 'tradition on Easter Day in Seko. under the guidance of pdt. Samuel Tokam M.Th as supervisor 1 and Berna Sule, M.Th as supervisor 2.This title was chosen because it was driven by the desire of writers who still have a curiosity about the Mambaja Kaburu’ 'tradition which is still carried out at Seko. the desire arises when he saw the conditions in the school where this tradition was carried out. the intended condition is that the implementation of this tradition is not carried out on the same day in different territories. but it is always held once a year at Easter. responding to these desires, then through this paper the writer is moved to seek meaning contained in the tradition. something that is done together certainly has meaning which is the reason why the traumatic is done. by looking at some of the theories as a reference to see more about the tradition. among them the theories about culture and tradition and respect for ancestors. interestingly, the tradition of the Mambaja Kaburu’ existed before Christianity was present. it means that the human civilization of the seko has been formed from tradition and culture. Until Christianity became the dominant religion in the school, even this practice was still being carried out. after conducting research, the author finally concluded that the tradition of Mambaja Kaburu"is still interpreted as a form of respect for ancestors, as a form of expressing love and to commemorate life together.
