Abstract
Abner, 2020228903, ‘’Analisis Teologi Kontekstual Model Sintesis Menurut Stephen B. Bevans Mengenai Finalitas Korban Kristus Dalam Ibrani 10:1–18 Dengan Tradisi Ma’dosa Di Dusun Batangpalli’’. ABSTRACT Abner, 2020228903, ‘’A Contextual Theological Analysis of the Synthetic Model According to Stephen B. Bevans Regarding the Finality of Christ's Sacrifice in Hebrews 10:1–18 in Relation to the Ma’dosa Tradition in Batangpalli Hamlet». This research examines the relationship between the Christian doctrine of the finality of Christ's sacrifice in Hebrews 10:1–18 and the local cultural practice of the Ma’dosa tradition in Batangpalli Hamlet, North Toraja. The local predominantly Christian community continues to maintain the Ma’dosa tradition, a ritual of confessing faults and restoring social relations through animal sacrifice. This field reality raises theological questions regarding the uniqueness and perfection of Christ's sacrifice, which was performed once for all. This descriptive qualitative study employs a biblical theology method through a grammatical-historical hermeneutic approach to the text of Hebrews 10:1–18, alongside field data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using Stephen B. Bevans' synthetic model of contextual theology. The primary objective of this research is to engage in a balanced dialogue between the biblical text and cultural reality, ensuring that the Christian faith remains relevant within society without doctrinal dualism. The results of this dialogue indicate that an engagement between the Gospel and culture can be achieved without doctrinal dualism through a reinterpretation of Ma’dosa. This tradition is viewed not as an atonement for sin, but as a symbolic ritual that visualizes Christ's redemption through concrete acts of social reconciliation. Consequently, the practice of Ma’dosa functions as a medium for celebrating the finality of Jesus Christ's work of salvation within the context of the Batangpalli community. Keywords: Contextual Theology, Synthetic Model, Finality of Christ's Sacrifice, Tradisi Ma’dosa, Epistle to the Hebrews.
