Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the ethical and theological tensions faced by the congregation in Lembang Pongbembe, Simbuang District, due to the clash between the obligation to follow the ma'saro tradition of mutual cooperation in the rambu solo' ceremony and the demands of church religious dogma. The purpose of this research is to formulate a relevant contextual mission model through the dialectic between the local wisdom of the Ma'saro tradition and Christian faith. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, with a contextual theological approach through the lens of Stephen B. Bevans' anthropological model. The results show that the ma'saro tradition is a concrete manifestation of "Cultural Ecology" that embodies the values of the Kingdom of God, such as communal self-sufficiency through the independent provision of bamboo and wood materials, and the creation of inclusive interfaith dialogue spaces. Furthermore, this study found that the ideal contextual mission model requires the church to act as a "Cultural Guide" through an adaptive process of pastoral reinterpretation and reactualization. Thus, Christian faith and the Ma'saro tradition can enrich each other without uprooting the congregation from its cultural roots. Keywords: ma’saro traditional, contextual mission, anthropological model, Christian faith, rambu solo’.
