Abstract

Kata Kunci: Diskriminasi dan Penindasan Struktural, Sistem Kapitalisme Karl Marx, Tradisi Mangngalli Kayu, Teologi Pembebasan Gustavo Gutierrez ABSTRACT The focus of this research is the existence of discrimination and exploitation in the Mangngalli Kayu tradition. The research method used is qualitative field research. In this study, the author found that the Mangngalli Kayu tradition is a traditional death ceremony performed only by the children (Kaunan) to ensure their level of ceremonial equality with the nobility (toparengnge' and tomakaka). This tradition requires the preparation of at least 15 buffaloes as an offering. This study aims to analyze the Mangngalli Kayu tradition in Lembang Tondon as a form of oppression and exploitation for children, the lowest social strata (Kaunan). The results of this study indicate the existence of structural oppression through the social structure within society, namely social class division and Karl Marx's capitalist system. Keywords: Discrimination and Structural Oppression, Karl Marx's Capitalist System, Mangngalli Kayu Tradition, Gustavo Gutierrez's Theology of Liberation.
