Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etis-teologis kehadiran tua-tua jemaat dalam sidang majelis gereja di Jemaat Rante Pasang. Rumusan masalah yang diangkat adalah bagaimana kajian etis-teologis kehadiran tua-tua jemaat dalam sidang majelis gereja tersebut dipahami dan dijalankan dalam kehidupan jemaat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, guna memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai fenomena yang terjadi melalui data berupa kata, peristiwa, maupun gambar yang dikumpulkan langsung dari lingkungan tempat fenomena berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran tua-tua jemaat dalam sidang majelis gereja dapat diterima sepanjang bertujuan mendukung pelayanan, memberikan pertimbangan yang membangun, serta tidak mengganggu kewenangan majelis gereja dalam mengambil keputusan. Berdasarkan pandangan situasionisme, keputusan mengenai kehadiran tua-tua jemaat hendaknya didasarkan pada situasi yang dihadapi dan sejauh mana kehadiran tersebut mewujudkan kasih, mendatangkan kebaikan bagi jemaat, serta mendukung pertumbuhan dan keteraturan kehidupan bergereja secara keseluruhan. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the ethical-theological study of the presence of church elders in the church council session at Rante Pasang Congregation. The research problem addressed is how the ethical-theological study of the presence of church elders in the church council session is understood and implemented in congregational life. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study design, in order to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon through data in the form of words, events, and images collected directly from the environment in which the phenomenon occurs. The research results show that the presence of church elders in the church council session can be accepted insofar as it aims to support ministry, provide constructive consideration, and does not interfere with the authority of the church council in making decisions. Based on the view of situationism, decisions regarding the presence of church elders should be based on the situation at hand and the extent to which such presence embodies love, brings good to the congregation, and supports growth and order in the overall life of the church.
