Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial telah memengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk praktik ibadah jemaat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengalaman dan pemaknaan jemaat mengenai penggunaan facebook dalam ibadah serta dampaknya terhadap kekhidmatan ibadah di Gereja Toraja Jemaat Bungin. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori fenomenologi Alfred Schutz, konsep facebook sebagai media sosial, dan pemahaman ibadah dalam perspektif Kristen. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa facebook dimaknai sebagai sarana dokumentasi, berbagi pengalaman rohani, penyimpanan kenangan pelayanan, dan media ekspresi iman. Namun, penggunaan facebook dapat memengaruhi kekhidmatan ibadah ketika perhatian jemaat lebih terarah pada aktivitas media sosial daripada pada jalannya ibadah. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan facebook dalam ibadah perlu untuk memperhatikan tujuan utama ibadah sebagai perjumpaan dengan Tuhan. Kata Kunci: Facebook, Fenomenologi, Ibadah, Kekhidmatan, Jemaat. Abstract The development of social media has influenced various aspects of life, including congregational worship practices. This study aims to analyze the experiences and interpretations of congregations regarding the use of Facebook in worship and its impact on the solemnity of worship at the Bungin Congregation of the Toraja Church. This study uses Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory, the concept of Facebook as a social media, and an understanding of worship from a Christian perspective. The method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results show that Facebook is interpreted as a means of documentation, sharing spiritual experiences, storing service memories, and a medium for expressing faith. However, the use of Facebook can affect the solemnity of worship when the congregation's attention is more directed at social media activities than on the course of worship. Therefore, the use of Facebook in worship needs to consider the main purpose of worship as an encounter with God. Keywords: Facebook, Phenomenology, Worship, solemnity, Congregation.
