Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya masalah penurunan moral di kalangan pemuda Kristen di Jemaat Syalom Pasangkalua, Kecamatan Seko. Masalah tersebut terlihat dari berkurangnya kehadiran pemuda dalam ibadah, perilaku mengonsumsi minuman keras, pergaulan bebas, serta menurunnya rasa hormat kepada orang tua dan pelayan gereja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor penyebab masalah moral tersebut dan menemukan cara penerapan Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang tepat untuk mengatasinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan pengumpulan dokumen bersama informan yang terdiri dari pendeta, majelis jemaat, orang tua, dan perwakilan pemuda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masalah moral pemuda disebabkan oleh tiga faktor utama, pengaruh negatif dari penggunaan teknologi digital (smartphone) yang tidak disaring, kurangnya contoh dan bimbingan iman dari orang tua di rumah, serta metode pembinaan gereja yang masih kaku dan searah. Berdasarkan temuan ini, disarankan agar penerapan PAK di jemaat diubah melalui pembuatan materi pembinaan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemuda, mengubah metode ceramah menjadi pendampingan kelompok kecil yang lebih dekat, menghidupkan kembali ibadah keluarga di rumah, serta melibatkan pemuda secara aktif dalam pelayanan gereja. ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the moral decline among Christian youth in the Syalom Pasangkalua Congregation, Seko District. This issue is visible in the decrease of youth attendance in church services, alcohol consumption, free association, and a lack of respect toward parents and church ministers. This study aims to analyze the causes of these moral problems and find the right way to implement Christian Religious Education to address them. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation with informants consisting of the minister, church elders, parents, and youth representatives. The results show that the youth's moral crisis is caused by three main factors, the negative impact of unfiltered digital technology (smartphone) use, a lack of role modeling and faith guidance from parents at home, and the church's rigid, one-way approach to youth nurturing. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the implementation of Christian Religious Education in the congregation must be transformed by creating learning materials that match the youth's needs, shifting from lecturing to close small-group mentoring, reviving family prayers at home, and actively involving the youth in church ministry.
