Abstract

Teks 1 Petrus 3:18-20 merupakan salah teks dalam kitab Perjanjian Baru yang dianggap sebagai teks yang paling sulit untuk diterjemahkan. Oleh karena itu dari teks ini muncul berbagai penafsiran khususnya tentang roh-roh yang terpenjara, itulah sebabanya kajian ini untuk menganalisis serta menemukan apa maksud dari ungkapan roh-roh yang terpenjara dalam perspektif 1 Petrus 3:18-20 yang didialogkan dengan roh-roh dalam perspektif antropologi Toraja, dengan menggunakan hermeneutik kontekstual. Roh-roh yang terpenjara berdasarkan 1 Petrus 3:18-20 merupakan roh orang-orang yang telah meninggal yang berada di hades dan kedatangan ke dunia orang mati (hades) untuk memperlihatkan kemenangannya, dengan tujuan agar semua makhluk mendengarkan tentang karya keselamatan yang dikerjakan-Nya. Dari hal ini penulis melihat kesejajaran pemahaman tentang roh-roh yang terpenjara ini dan juga tentang bombo dalam perspektif antropologi masyarakat Toraja. Tetapi yang membedakan adalah keselamatan roh-roh tidak dapat di ukur dengan kurban dan ritus yang dilakukan keluarga tetapi bagaimana merespon karya Kristus melalui pengorbanan-Nya. Kata Kunci: Yesus, Roh-Roh, Bombo, Terpenjara. Abstrac The text of 1 Peter 3:18-20 is one of the texts in the New Testament that is considered the most difficult text to translate. Therefore, various interpretations emerge from this text, especially regarding imprisoned spirits, that is why this study is to analyze and find out what the expressions of imprisoned spirits mean in the perspective of 1 Peter 3:18-20 in dialogue with the spirits in Toraja anthropological perspective, using contextual hermeneutics. The imprisoned spirits according to 1 Peter 3:18-20 are the spirits of the dead who are in hades and come to the world of the dead (hades) to show their victory, with the aim that all creatures hear about the work of salvation that is being carried out. His. From this, the author sees parallels in understanding these imprisoned spirits and also about bombo in the anthropological perspective of the Toraja people. But what makes the difference is that the salvation of the spirits cannot be measured by the sacrifices and rites performed by the family but how to respond to the work of Christ through His sacrifice.
