Abstract

Orang dengan disabilitas selalu mendapat perlakuan yang kurang baik dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Mereka sering diberi stigma sebagai orang yang berdosa. Stigma sebagai pendosa tidak terlepas dari narasi-narasi yang ada dalam Alkitab dimana keadaan mereka disebabkan karena dosa mereka sendiri maupun dosa dari turunan. Doktrin gereja mengajarkan tentang kasih, hakikat manusia yang sama dimata Tuhan, Gereja sebagai Tubuh Kristus dan Gereja sebagai Keluarga Allah. Namun sungguh ironis bahwa doktrin tersebut sering terabaikan ketika realitas orang dengan disabiltas ada dalam kehidupan bergereja. Mereka masih tetap menjadi warga kelas dua yang tidak mendaptkan pelayanan secara memadai. Tulisan ini ingin menguraikan bagaimana keberadaan orang dengan disabiltas dalam jemaat yang sering terabaikan karena kuatnya stigma yang melekat pada keberadaan mereka. Lalu penulis memperbandingkan dengan beberapa ajaran gereja yang seharusnya menjadi titik pijak untuk melihat mereka sebagai sesame dimata Tuhan dan memperlakukan mereka sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari gereja tersebut. Kata Kunci : Disabilitas, Manusia, Gereja, Tubuh Kristus, Keluarga Allah. Abstract People with disabilities always receive poor treatment when interacting with other people. They are often stigmatized as sinners. The stigma of being a sinner cannot be separated from the narratives in the Bible where their condition is caused by their own sins or the sins of their descendants. Church doctrine teaches about love, the equal nature of humans in the eyes of God, the Church as the Body of Christ and the Church as the Family of God. However, it is ironic that this doctrine is often overlooked when the reality of people with disabilities exists in church life. They are still second class citizens who do not receive adequate Services. This article wants to explain how the existence of people with disabilities in congregations is often overlooked because of the strong stigma attached to their existence. Then the author compares them with several church teachings which should be a starting point for seeing them as neighbors in the eyes of God and treating them as an inseparable part of the church.Keywords: Disability, Humans, Church, Body of Christ, Family of God.
