Abstract
Hibur Wanti (22010107), Tahun 2024 menyusun tesis dengan judul Studi Cross-Textual Reading Kosmogoni Toraja dan Narasi Penciptaan 1:1-2:4a serta Implikasinya bagi Persoalan Ekologi di Toraja. Penulis dibimbing oleh Dr. Frans Paillin Rumbi, M.Th. sebagai pembimbing pertama dan Dr. James Anderson Lola, M.Th. sebagai pembimbing kedua. Penulisan tesis ini berangka dari kegelisahan penulis terhadap krisis ekologi yang terjadi di Toraja belakangan ini. Salah satu yang menjadi fokus penulis adalah krisis air akibat kerusakan sungai Sa’dan yang disebabkan oleh tindakan masyarakat Toraja sekitar sungai Sa’dan yang tidak menjaga dan merawat kebersihan sungai sebagai rumah dan penopang kehidupan ekosistem. Berangkat dari persoalan ini, maka penulis tertarik untuk melihat makna air dalam budaya Toraja dan pandagan teologis dengan menggunakan studi cross-textual reading. Metode penulisan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif pustaka murni dengan mengandalkan berbagai literatur yang dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi penulisan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan keterkaitan manusia dengan air sebagai materi penciptaan yang dipakai dalam proses penciptaan untuk keberlangsungan hidup ciptaan yang lain. Secara khusus masyarakat Toraja yang kental dengan adat dan tradisi menjadikan air sebagai bagian dari kehidupannya. Dengan kesadaran tinggi akan pentingnya air bagi kehidupan, maka masyarakat Toraja dapat memulihkan alam yang telah rusak khususnya sungai Sa’dan yang sudah tercemar. ABSTRACT Hibur Wanti (2010107), 2024 compiled a thesis entitled Cross-Textual Reading Study of Toraja Cosmogony and Creation Narrative 1:1-2:4a and Its Implications for Ecological Issues in Toraja. The author was supervised by Dr. Frans Paillin Rumbi, M.Th. as the first supervisor and Dr. James Anderson Lola, M.Th. as the second supervisor. The writing of this thesis stems from the author's concern about the ecological crisis that has occurred in Toraja recently. One of the author's focuses is the water crisis due to the damage to the Sa'dan River caused by the actions of the Toraja people around the Sa'dan River who do not maintain and care for the cleanliness of the river as a home and support for the life of the ecosystem. Departing from this problem, the author is interested in seeing the meaning of water in Toraja culture and theological views by using a cross-textual reading study. The writing method used in this study is a pure library qualitative method by relying on various literature that can be used as references for writing. The results of this study explain the relationship between humans and water as a creative material used in the creation process for the survival of other creations. In particular, the Toraja people who are thick with customs and traditions make water a part of their lives. With a high awareness of the importance of water for life, the Toraja people can restore nature that has been damaged, especially the polluted Sa'dan River.
