Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran mentor dalam pembentukan spiritual anak remaja usia 12-14 tahun di Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) Banne Marendeng ID 0801, Tana Toraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap mentor, anak remaja, dan koordinator PPA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mentor memiliki peran penting sebagai teladan, pembimbing, motivator, pelatih, dan pengutus dalam proses pembentukan karakter spiritual anak remaja. Kedekatan antara mentor dan anak remaja memengaruhi efektivitas pembimbingan, terutama dalam hal membangun kepercayaan dan komunikasi. Meski demikian tetap ada kendala yang dihadapi untuk itu, maka dukungan kelembagaan sangat diperlukan dalam meningkatkan kapasitas mentor melalui pelatihan, penyusunan modul pembinaan, dan monitoring rutin. Dengan peran yang lebih optimal, mentor dapat membantu anak-anak mengembangkan hubungan yang lebih baik dengan Tuhan, memperkuat nilai-nilai moral, serta membentuk karakter yang tangguh dalam menghadapi tantangan kehidupan. ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the role of mentors in the spiritual formation of aged 12-14 years at the PPA Banne Marendeng ID 0801, Tana Toraja. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies of mentors, adolescents, and PPA coordinators. The results of the study shows that mentors have an important role as role models, guides, motivators, coaches, and dispatchers in the process of forming the spiritual character of adolescents. The closeness between the mentor and the adolescent affects the effectiveness of mentoring, especially when it comes to building trust and communication. However, there are still obstacles faced for this, so institutional support is needed to increase the capacity of mentors through training, the preparation of coaching modules, and routine monitoring. With a more optimal role, mentors can help children develop a better relationship with God, strengthen moral values, and form a strong character in facing life's challenges.
