Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini meninjau sejarah masuknya Kekristenan di Soppeng dan relevansinya terhadap pertumbuhan iman di Gereja Kristen Sulawesi Selatan (GKSS) Jemaat Imanuel Soppeng. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai penelitian ini adalah mengetahui serta memaparkan hikmah atau pelajaran dalam peninjauan terhadap sejarah masuknya kekristenan di tanah Bugis Soppeng, dan relevansinya terhadap pertumbuhan iman di GKSS Jemaat Imanuel Soppeng. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah historiografi, yang melibatkan tahapan-tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa memasukan injil di Bugis Soppeng membawa sebuah relevansi bagi pertumbuhan iman Jemaat GKSS Imanuel Soppeng bahwa dari sejarah ini mereka boleh mendapatkan pembelajaran, penguat identitas, alat persatuan dan mengajarkan jemaat untuk boleh bertahan sampai saat ini dan boleh melewati berbagai tantangan dan pencobaan karena mereka belajar dari sejarah. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah pemahaman jemaat mengenai perkembangan keimanan dan akar spiritualnya serta memberikan kontribusi dalam kajian sejarah keagamaan di Indonesia. Kata kunci: Sejarah Injil, Relevansi, Jemaat GKSS Imanuel, Pertumbuhan Iman ABSTRACT This research reviews the history of the arrival of Christianity in Soppeng and its relevance to the growth of faith in the South Sulawesi Christian Church (GKSS) Congregation Imanuel Soppeng. The aim of this research is to find out and explain the wisdom or lessons learned in reviewing the history of the arrival of Christianity in the Bugis land of Soppeng, and its relevance to the growth of faith in the GKSS Imanuel Soppeng Congregation. The research method used is historiography, which involves the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this research show that including the gospel in Bugis Soppeng brings relevance to the growth of faith of the GKSS Imanuel Soppeng congregation, that from this history they can gain learning, strengthen identity, tools for unity and teach the congregation to be able to survive until now and be able to overcome various challenges and trials. because they learn from history. It is hoped that this research can increase the congregation's understanding of the development of faith and its spiritual roots and contribute to the study of religious history in Indonesia.
