Abstract

Pastoral care is something that cannot be separated from congregational life, where in pastoral care a minister must carry out his duties and responsibilities well. That is why, the aim of this research is to formulate and describe pastoral care for generation Z who are suicide attempters, using a rational emotive therapy approach, in the Toraja Church, Perindingan Congregation, Klasis Sillanan. This study was motivated by the author's concern about generation Z who were involved in the act of attempted suicide. The significance of this study is to understand pastoral care for generation Z who commit suicide attempts. The research method that the author uses in this study is case study research with a qualitative approach using descriptive research methods. In this context, the author will apply instrumental case studies, where cases are analysed to clarify deep understanding or generalization processes in the hope that the research results will provide maximum results. At the end of this paper, the author concludes that pastoral care for generation Z needs to start with an open approach so that they can address their problems. Church ministers should actively make regular visits, provide guidance, and help generation Z who are experiencing difficulties, especially those involved in suicide attempts, to help them escape problems and make decisions that are in accordance with God's will.
