Abstract

Scroll culture telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan sehari-hari pemuda di era digital, termasuk pemuda Jemaat Moria Tondon. Kebiasaan menggulir konten media sosial secara terus-menerus ini berpotensi memengaruhi konsentrasi dalam beribadah dan kedisiplinan dalam kehidupan rohani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pendeta dalam menyikapi fenomena scroll culture pada pemuda Jemaat Moria Tondon, Klasis Makale, dalam perspektif teologis. Teori yang digunakan mencakup konsep spiritualitas Kristen dan peran pendeta sebagai pembimbing rohani, pendamping pastoral, pembina iman, dan pengajar firman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa scroll culture telah memengaruhi kehidupan rohani sebagian pemuda, terutama dalam hal konsentrasi saat beribadah dan pengelolaan waktu untuk doa. Pendeta telah merespons fenomena ini melalui khotbah, pembinaan, retreat, dan pemanfaatan media digital gereja. Namun, pembinaan yang secara khusus dan terencana membahas scroll culture sebagai tantangan rohani pemuda belum terlaksana, sehingga persoalan ini masih menjadi tantangan dalam pelayanan kepada pemuda di Jemaat Moria Tondon. Kata kunci: scroll culture, pendeta, spiritualitas, pemuda. ABSTRACT Scroll culture has become part of the daily life of young people in the digital age, including the youth of Jemaat Moria Tondon. The habit of continuously scrolling through social media content has the potential to affect concentration during worship and discipline in spiritual life. This study aims to examine the role of the pastor in responding to the scroll culture phenomenon among the youth of Jemaat Moria Tondon, Klasis Makale, from a theological perspective. The theoretical framework used includes the concept of Christian spirituality and the pastor's role as a spiritual guide, pastoral companion, faith developer, and teacher of the Word. This study employs a qualitative method with data collected through interviews and observation. The findings indicate that scroll culture has influenced the spiritual lives of some youth, particularly regarding concentration during worship and time management for prayer. The pastor has responded to this phenomenon through sermons, discipleship activities, retreats, and the use of church digital media. However, a structured and intentional program specifically addressing scroll culture as a spiritual challenge for youth has yet to be implemented, making this an ongoing challenge in the pastoral ministry to the youth of Jemaat Moria Tondon.
