Abstract
Kata Kunci: Rut 4:1-10, go’el, hesed, perkawinan kerabat, dipoli’ lolona bojo’. ABSTRACT This study examines Ruth 4:1-10 and its implications for the practice of consanguineous marriage (dipoli' lolona bojo') in Rantepalado, Bambang Village, using grammatical-historical and qualitative methods. The exegesis of Ruth 4:1-10 reveals three key theological principles: the concept of go'el (kinship responsibility), hesed (loyal love that transcends personal interests), and public witness as a means of legitimizing marriage. Field findings indicate that the community's motivations for consanguineous marriage include sincere love, strengthening family ties, and preserving the indigenous population. The pemali system restricts marriages that are too close, while the murambu langi' ritual serves as a mechanism of public validation. The study concludes that Rantepalado customary practices are theologically aligned with biblical values when based on loyal love, honesty, and adherence to norms. Keywords: Ruth 4:1-10, go'el, hesed, consanguineous marriage, dipoli' lolona bojo'.
