Abstract

Massanduk di Balusu hanya dilakukan oleh sebagian masyarakat karena adanya syarat ekonomi dan jumlah kerbau, sehingga menimbulkan ketidaksetaraan dalam pelaksanaan Aluk Rambu Solo’. Penelitian ini bertujuan agar ritus Massanduk dapat dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Balusu tanpa paksaan atau syarat diskriminatif, karena mengandung nilai-nilai yang sejalan dengan Injil. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka; data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan model Terjemahan Bevans untuk mengidentifikasi unsur budaya yang dapat diadopsi dan yang perlu dikritisi secara teologis. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Massanduk memuat nilai kasih, solidaritas, pengorbanan, penghormatan, keadilan, dan syukur, namun praktiknya bersifat eksklusif akibat persyaratan ekonomi dan jumlah kerbau. Dengan demikian, ritus Massanduk di Balusu tidak perlu dihapuskan tetapi dimurnikan dari unsur diskriminatif agar menjadi praktik yang sederhana dan dilakukan oleh siapa saja tanpa memandang status sosial Kata Kunci: Aluk Rambu Solo’, Balusu, Massanduk, Model Terjemahan Bevans, Teologi Kontekstual. ABSTRACT In Balusu, the Massanduk ritual is performed only by certain segments of the community due to economic constraints and the limited availability of buffalo, resulting in disparities in the practice of Aluk Rambu Solo’. This study aims to ensure that the Massanduk ritual can be performed by the people of Balusu without coercion or discriminatory requirements, given that the ritual embodies values aligned with the Gospel. The researcher employed a qualitative approach involving interviews, observation, and literature review; data were analyzed descriptively using Bevans’s "Translation Model" to identify cultural elements suitable for adoption and those requiring theological critique. The findings indicate that Massanduk embodies values of love, solidarity, sacrifice, respect, justice, and gratitude; however, its execution is exclusive due to economic demands and the number of buffalo involved. Consequently, the Massanduk ritual in Balusu need not be abolished but rather purified of its discriminatory elements, transforming it into a simple practice accessible to all, regardless of social status.
