Abstract

Eksplorasi ini berangkat dari Fenomena kurangnya sikap hormat siswa terhadap guru, penggunaan bahasa yang tidak membedakan tata krama kepada semua orang serta rendahnya kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab siswa. Eksplorasi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen dalam membentuk karakter sosial siswa kelas XI di SMKS Kristen Kandora. eksplorasi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil eksplorasi menunjukkan bahwa guru PAK berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter sosial siswa melalui empat peran, sebagai pendidik, pembimbing, pengajar, dan penasehat. Peran tersebut diwujudkan melalui penanaman nilai-nilai kristiani, pembiasaan disiplin, keteladanan, dan pemberian nasihat yang membangun. Karakter sosial yang tampak berkembang pada siswa meliputi sikap komunikatif, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab. Namun, proses pembentukan karakter sosial masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kerja sama antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat dalam mendukung pembentukan karakter sosial siswa. Kata Kunci: Peran Guru, Karakter, Karakter Sosial. ABSTRACT This study addresses the phenomenon of students lacking respect for teachers, failing to observe proper etiquette in their language use, and demonstrating low levels of discipline and responsibility. The study aims to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education teachers in shaping the social character of Grade XI students at SMKS Kristen Kandora. A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was employed. The findings indicate that Christian Religious Education teachers play a crucial role in shaping students' social character through four distinct roles: educator, guide, instructor, and counselor. These roles are enacted by instilling Christian values, fostering disciplined habits, setting a good example, and offering constructive advice. The social character traits observed to be developing in the students include communicativeness, discipline, and responsibility. However, the process of shaping social character still faces various challenges. Therefore, collaboration among the school, the family, and the community is essential to support the development of students' social character. Keywords: Teacher's Role, Character, Social Character.
